World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.
The 27-year-old secured four tournament victories – the most on tour – which included retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles title.
Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015.
Sabalenka concluded the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in tournament winnings.
She garnered almost 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a new level".
Recently, Carlos Alcaraz won three awards in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was voted fans' favourite for a third time.
