In numerous discussions, fans keep sounding the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering about PlayStation for the first time. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for the tech giant's gaming arm. However, judging purely by the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft continues to plan to attract subscribers with quality releases on its premier subscription.
The duo of games currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's truly noteworthy.
On Jan. 13, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that deviates from typical Ubisoft design with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "an ideal blend of frights and fights."
However, the more modest titles coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike offering thrilling gameplay, becomes available next week — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. However, this batch of games are rock solid. There's a good mixture of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around — transforming them into perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
