Analysis has identified that approximately 90 aircraft journeys connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein allegedly arrived at and departed from British airports, with some allegedly transporting women from the UK who assert they were victimized by the found guilty sex offender.
The flight logs were part of thousands of court documents and papers released by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein that have been made public over the last year. The analysis found 87 aircraft movements tied to Epstein â including many that were previously unknown â landing or taking off from UK airports between the early 1990s and 2018.
Unnamed female passengers were recorded among the passengers travelling into and out of the UK. Significantly, 15 of these British airport journeys took place after Epsteinâs 2008 guilty verdict for procuring prostitution from a child.
âThis is âastonishingâ that there had never been a âthorough probe in the UKâ into his dealings in the country,â remarked US lawyers representing numerous Epstein victims.
Evidence from one of the British victims was instrumental in convicting Epsteinâs accomplice socialite Ghislaine Maxwell of sex trafficking of minors in the US in 2021. But, that victim has not been approached by UK authorities, as stated by her attorney based in Florida.
In a statement, the Metropolitan police stated they had ânot been provided with any additional information that would support restarting the probe.â They added, âShould new and relevant evidence be brought to our attention, encompassing any resulting from the disclosure of material in the US, we will review it.â
Proposed legislation to release all files held by the US government in relation to Epstein was approved by the House and Senate last month. The Department of Justice has until 19 December to comply. Hundreds of thousands of files are anticipated to be released.
Separately, a federal judge ordered last week that the DOJ could make public investigative materials from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epsteinâs close friend, who is serving a 20-year jail term over the charges.
