Miami scored 86 opening half points against the Grizzlies
The Heat secured a decisive 146 to 114 win over the Grizzlies in their initial basketball match after player Rozier was arrested over alleged unlawful sports betting.
Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups was also detained as part of a broad federal probe into sports betting. Both men deny the claims.
But, the Miami team were not distracted as they recorded eighty-six first-half points to be ahead of Memphis by thirty-nine after two quarters, the biggest halftime lead in the team's 37 year history.
Bam Adebayo led the way with twenty-four points and later said Terry had the team's full backing.
"We stand behind him. Complete backing," Adebayo stated. "We are with him all the way. That's our brother at the end of the day."
Miami head coach Spoelstra added: "Rozier is somebody who is important to everyone. He's had a real positive impact on our locker room.
"We send our thoughts and support for him as he faces this."
Portland additionally won their initial match after the detentions, with Brazil-born Tiago Splitter stepping in as temporary head coach in Billups' non-attendance and leading the squad to a convincing 139 to 119 victory against the Golden State Warriors.
"Everyone experienced great experiences with Billups and his coaching style," Splitter remarked. "Our thoughts are with him and his family but we have a job to do."
Speaking about the detentions for the first time, NBA commissioner Silver said he was "deeply disturbed" by the incidents of the past few days.
"There's nothing more important to the league and its fans than the integrity of the competition," he informed a broadcaster. "And so I had a pit in my stomach. It was disturbing."
Silver further said an NBA investigation into the player's conduct in spring 2023, when there was "unusual wagering" in a match he played for the Charlotte Hornets versus the Pelicans, found nothing untoward.
"We were informed by the authorities and the betting companies," he continued.
"We investigated the matter and were open about it. And while there was the unusual wagering, we, frankly, found no evidence.
"The federal government has legal authority... [it] can impose penalties, can take various actions that the league office is unable to.
"Therefore, we've been cooperating from that point. And, of course, what they announced yesterday was an indictment.
"And two and a half years after, he has not been found guilty of anything, in justice to Rozier.
"Obviously, it appears unfavorable, but he's been put on administrative leave, and so it is a compromise in this case between protecting people's rights and conducting an inquiry."
Elsewhere, Lakers player Doncic recorded over forty points for the second game straight to start the season.
After scoring 43 scores in a season-opening defeat to the Warriors, the European star achieved forty-nine points - along with eleven rebounds and 8 passes - as the Los Angeles beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 128-110.
From Greece player Antetokounmpo also had a big night with thirty-one points, 20 boards and 7 assists in the Bucks' 122 to 116 win over the Toronto Raptors.
Houston Rockets were beaten 115 to 111 by the Pistons even with 37 scores from Kevin Durant, while Victor Wembanyama had twenty-nine points, eleven rebounds and nine rejections in the San Antonio Spurs' extra-time victory over the New Orleans.
